1st Annual Driver of the Year Award

In July 2022 Sapp Bros. celebrated our 1st annual Driver of the Year Award Dinner. We invited all qualifying drivers and their spouses along with our Corporate Leadership, Regional Managers and Location Managers to the celebration.

Qualifying drivers are those that went an entire year with zero coachable events in Lytx, no at fault accident, no mixed product events, no reportable spills, no failed DOT inspections, and no HOS violations. Out of our 220+ drivers we had 18 drivers across our company that qualified. A monumental achievement that we couldn’t be more proud of them for! Each Regional Manager that had a qualifying driver in their region nominated a finalist for Driver of the Year. It was not an easy task or choice to pick a winner, but we were proud to announce 34 year veteran driver of Sapp Bros, Doug Leinemann of Grand Island, Nebraska as Driver of the Year!

All attending and qualifying drivers were put into a drawing for a grand prize valued at $5000! Randy Schmidt of Filley NE was our big prize winner for the night and had his choice of a Cruise, trip to Disney World, Trip to Daytona 500 or cash.

Congratulations to all of our Driver of the Year finalists!
